The Data analysis / Display control panel is located in the right panel of the Display window (Figure D).

The possible type of display and actions related to XY relationships depend on the type of signals connected in input.

3D display settings

The 3D display settings panel is available for XY plots of continuous signals with Trigger connected in input. The 3D display is associated to the 3D button located below XY display.

Angle and Depth parameters can be changed in the control panel or directly in the XY display by holding down the left button of the mouse and then moving the pointer to the desired position. Values of Angle and Depth in the control panel are automatically adjusted.

Discrete signal points match

The Discrete signal points match panel (described in the table below) is available when the signal connected on X input is discrete. It allows to defined the reference point for XY pairs and the association method.

For discrete input signals settings adapt whether X and Y inputs are identical or not.

The selection of matching algorithm and associated parameters depends on characteristics of the X and Y inputs .

Each value is associated to another one, distant by a user-defined number of samples.

Each value is associated to another one, distant by a user-defined duration.

X master

Each value on X signal is associated to the first encountered value on Y signal after the X point.
If Matching window is checked, the algorithm will only associate values within the defined window duration. Points without matching value will not be displayed.

Each value on Y signal is associated to the first encountered value on X signal after the Y point.
If Matching window is checked, the algorithm will only associate values within the defined window duration. Points without matching value will not be displayed.

Curve fitting

The user can select and apply a fitting curve to the XY relationship of each zone. The regression equation and correlation coefficient is displayed in the Curve fitting control panel. Approximation of XY plot is available with Linear, Exponential, Quadratic or Logarithmic formulas.

Curve fitting is available for both discrete and continuous signals.

For continuous signals, conditions apply:

  • X, Y and Trigger inputs must be connected,
  • 2D mode must be selected,
  • regression curve is computed with X and Y values at the time of the trigger.

 Parameters of the fitting curve control panel:

Information of analysis zones definition and regression parameters can be exported in Excel® with the  button for more advanced signal processing or reporting purposes.
