The XY display (Figure C) plots, for each analysis zone, Y signal against X signal. Successive zones with different frequencies cannot be plotted on the XY display.

Cycle/point analysis toolbar

The cycle/point analysis toolbar located below the XY display allows editing of individual XY plots.

Characteristics

Description

1

Reject current cycle/point

The current cycle/point is excluded from curve fitting computation (if available). Active only when the selection is on a non-rejected cycle/point.

2

Restore current cycle/point

The previously rejected current cycle/point is restored included for curve fitting computation (if available). Active only active when selection is on a rejected cycle/point.

3

First cycle/point,
Previous cycle/point,
Next cycle/point,
Last cycle/point

Goes to the first, previous, next or last cycle/point respectively, regardless of the status of the cycle/point (accepted or rejected). The correspondence between a specific data point in XY display and its time position in the multi-graph display can directly be obtained by holding down the ALT key and clicking on XY point of interest.

4

3D

Available for XY plots of continuous signals and when Trigger is connected in input. Associated to 3D display settings control panel.

5

Color gradient

Associated to 3D functionalities. Plots a gradient surface for which colors can be defined in the Display Configuration window.

6

Current cycle/point

Index of the current cycle/point in relation with the total number of cycles/points in the analysis zone.

7

Rejected cycle/point

Number of rejected cycles/points in relation with the total number of cycles/points in the analysis zone.

Scrolling window time

An additional parameter, Scrolling window time appears when XYD30a is in acquisition and scrolling is activated.

It allows to visualize XY plots on a user-defined window duration, without creating an analysis zone. Maximum value is 100000 seconds for discrete signals and 100000/signal sampling rate for continuous signals.

Display configuration window

The toolbar of the multi-graphs is similar to CTD60a (Universal chart display – see reference document), except for the  button that opens a specific Display Configuration window.

The Display Configuration window provides additional controls for the display of cycles/points and regression curves of the current analysis zone. Accepted cycles/points are always displayed, as well as the current cycle/point.

FAQ - Why is the signal not displayed in the XY panel of XYD30a, after connecting the X and Y inputs?

To visualize the Y signal against the X signal, you must define a zone in the Multi-graphs display.
Look at the picture below. Click on Insert a vertical zone then click on the multi-graph display and drag the mouse to insert a zone (blue zone). The XY relationships regarding this zone are displayed on the XY display. You can create several zones and move from one zone to another thanks to the Zones definition panel.
